A small city garden - Picturesque?

This small city garden located behind an elegant boutique on Place Stéphanie bears striking characteristics similar to the work of Jules Buyssens, a great landscape designer of the first half of the 20th century. The axial plan ending in a hemicycle, the opus incertum walkway, the low stone wall with ornamental plants, the bamboo grove, the ferns... all these elements were highly prized in the new Picturesque Garden movement, founded by Buyssens in 1913. So, even if this garden has lost some of its surface over the years, the spirit of the 30s is still palpable.
