Anchor Points

There is an apple on the chair by the window, a red apple, on the wooden chair. The sun is shining brightly, it is warm. The sun shines through the window on the chair. It is my brother's chair but I am alone in the room and lying on my back on the floor, on the carpet, a soft carpet. Someone is singing outside, I can hear it clearly.
We will tell stories, make drawings, collages and compositions, to reveal from our memories details from a place we have experienced, a place that has moved us. We will look at its architecture through time, so that we can place it in a setting. And we won’t stand alone, the exhibition Chronograms of architecture will lead us.
About the workshop animators:
Eva studied architecture and researched spaces in paintings for her PhD, drawing and modelling frequently. She teached for some time and is currently back in school herself for a postgraduate degree in cultural heritage. She is also passionate about textiles and leather. She loves to work with children and to seek for wonder with them through creative explorations.
For the past ten years, Wouter has been teaching to (interior) architecture students at Sint-Lucas Brussels and Ghent. His approach was based on his trans-disciplinary artistic practice, in which a drawing can just as easily be a performance, an object, an installation, a garden or a text. In his work, he pays in particular attention to space and the way space is coloured through time by what happens within. He is currently a member of the pedagogical service at CIVA.
